Fall Fun Day
Fall Fun Day!
Join us for our 2nd Annual Fall Fun Day!
Here's the schedule...
3:00pm - Event officially begins. Meet and greet and prepare for fun!
3:30pm - Activities for all ages begin including:
- Haunted Forest
- Skull Hunt
- Witch's Hat Slalom
- Creaky Bike Toss
- Dead Weight Drag (Log Pull)
- Spiral of Control (Slow Race)
4pm - 1st Group ride - while it's still daylight
There will be leaders and sweepers, so all abilities are welcome!
5pm - We'll be grilling out with food, plus there will be s'mores at the fire pit and hot cocoa!
5:30pm - 2nd Group ride - “Night Ride” (sunset is at 5:45 so bring your lights)
Again, leaders and sweepers will assist.
A selection of SKORR merchandise will be available for sale and we'll also have a 50/50 raffle with the winner selected and announced at 7pm (must be present to win).
Come in costume or as you are. Let's have fun!!!
This event is free of charge, but donations are gladly accepted and much appreciated to help continue maintenance of the bike trails all year round.
Please check our Facebook page or this event Saturday morning after 10am to look for any rain delay notification. If weather demands it, we will postpone the event to Sunday, Nov 3rd.
SKORR is a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to sustainably maintaining and improving trails for all mountain biking enthusiasts within the Kettle Moraine State Forest. Through cycling we inspire adventure, trail advocacy, and engagement by all to build community.
Emma Carlin Trail Work Day
Fall has taken a firm grasp, but there is still work to do on the trails to continue improvements and keep them enjoyable to ride all year long! Our focus on this last official workday of the year will be clearing out the Overlook area and fixing some drainage spots. As always, we'll work on trimming back overgrowth where needed.
We will happily prepare lunch in thanks for your efforts.
We will provide some delicious snacks and beverages.
We will give many, many thanks for your contribution to the continued access and enjoyment of the mountain bike trails.
We’ll have several tools available, but extras are always helpful if you have them. If you're willing, please bring:
- String trimmers
- Hedge trimmers
- Weed eaters
- Loppers
- Hand clippers
- Leaf Blowers
We also suggest you wear long sleeves and pants as a precaution to poison ivy and the scratchy stuff.
We will meet at the Emma Carlin parking lot starting at 8am and break into groups.

John Muir Trail Work day
It’s almost time for the Fall Color Festival - one more week! Let’s make sure the trails are in tip top shape and ready for all that extra traffic. We appreciate help from everyone; you don’t have to be a SKORR member. We all ride the trails, so let’s work together!
We will meet at the John Muir pavilion starting at 8am and break into groups. Groups will spread out to tackle the areas that need the most attention. This may include mowing along the trail, cutting back buckthorn, raspberries, and other prickly pests, adding drainage, and/or clearing Emergency Access pathways.
We’ll have several tools available, but tools that are always helpful if you have them and you’re willing to bring them along are:
String trimmers
Hedge trimmers
Leaf blowers
Loppers
Hand pruners
Long pants and long sleeves
You may want to wear long pants and long sleeves as a precaution against poison ivy and other scratchy stuff!
We will provide lunch and refreshments in thanks for your efforts!
John Muir & Connector Trail Work Day
We're fast approaching the Fall Color Festival coming up on September 28th and we're gathering twice in September to get the trails ready for some heavier traffic.
While our goals are largely focused on trimming back overgrowth and getting the grass mowed both at John Muir and some of the Connector, depending on how many people show up, we may be able to tackle some trail repair as well.
We will happily prepare lunch in thanks for your efforts.
We will also provide some delicious snacks and beverages.

GRiT Trail Work Evening
We’re doing a GRiT (Girls Riding Together) Trail Work Evening and would love your participation! Are you a girl that likes riding bikes? Maybe you know girls who like to ride bikes. Either way, your participation not only supports girls riding bikes together it also helps to maintain the trails which we all know and love. We will be tackling smaller sections of trail to do trimming and upkeep and then gathering together at the pavilion to connect and build community. We look forward to see all who can join!
International Women's MTB Day with Metro Mountain Bikers
Come join Metro Mountain Bikers on International Women’s MTB Day at the John Muir Trail Head. We’ll be there supporting Metro with their event and celebrating women (and people) on bikes. While we’re celebrating women on bikes, that doesn’t mean that men and children aren’t welcome to join us. Come, spend time in the woods on bikes!
Earth Day with The Hive
What better way to spend Earth Day than to be outside, enjoying Mother Nature while improving the mountain bike trails! Our partner, The Hive Taproom, a fellow 1% for the Planet member, will be joining us to work on the John Muir mountain bike trails. We have made tremendous progress this spring due to the erratic weather and look forward to polishing them up as the season fast approaches. That can only happen with your help!
Come join us starting at 8am. Meet at the Pavilion located at N9097 County Road H Whitewater, WI 53190 and we’ll break into groups so we can tackle the areas that need attention. Following working in the woods, we’ll head over to The Hive starting at 12:30pm for a deliciously refreshing beverage and lunch provided by SKORR.. The Hive is providing 1 glass of their incredible session mead for each person that comes out to help and SKORR will provide a mixture of brats and pizza in appreciation of all your hard work! Please, join us for a day celebrating our planet followed by great food, drink, and conversation.

SKORR Fall Fun Day
Come join us for a day full of fun at the John Muir Trail Head! Wear a costume, bring your favorite beverage, bring your friends and let’s enjoy the day. SKORR will provide brats, burgers, hotdogs, and veggie burgers as well as water and other NA beverages. We’ll have some fun games to play and a fire to keep warm. We can’t wait to see you!
