John Muir Trail Work day

It’s almost time for the Fall Color Festival - one more week! Let’s make sure the trails are in tip top shape and ready for all that extra traffic. We appreciate help from everyone; you don’t have to be a SKORR member. We all ride the trails, so let’s work together!

We will meet at the John Muir pavilion starting at 8am and break into groups. Groups will spread out to tackle the areas that need the most attention. This may include mowing along the trail, cutting back buckthorn, raspberries, and other prickly pests, adding drainage, and/or clearing Emergency Access pathways.

We’ll have several tools available, but tools that are always helpful if you have them and you’re willing to bring them along are:

  • String trimmers

  • Hedge trimmers

  • Leaf blowers

  • Loppers

  • Hand pruners

    Long pants and long sleeves

You may want to wear long pants and long sleeves as a precaution against poison ivy and other scratchy stuff!

We will provide lunch and refreshments in thanks for your efforts!
